Web Clustering & Failover
Utilizing the latest Microsoft Server 2008 R2 operating systems, fully clustered hosts provide real-time failover to any customer's hosted solution. Use of web clustering allows any host on Portalogiks network to take over the planned (or unexpected) application processing and web delivery needs of your shared or dedicated hosting solution. Regardless of whether you are a Virtual Dedicated customer, or have the lowest package on a shared environment, 100% of Portalogiks customers enjoy having their solution participate in clustered services.
SQL Clusters
SQL is the storage silo backbone of all Portalogiks hosted technologies. Customers using Portalogiks shared hosting solutions enjoy fully clustered SQL servers for maximum up-time and reliability. Twin SQL servers with heartbeat monitors ensure your solution does not have any interruptions and provides real-time failover if a SQL server, or supporting host, goes down. Additionally, use of SQL clustering allows Portalogiks to toggle between SQL servers for maintenance or upgrades with no interruption of data services to your hosted solution.
Connectivity Redundancy & Failover
Loss of internet connectivity is one of the most common up-time issues. Thankfully, Portalogiks employs a blended bandwidth solution of nine (9) ISP providers. This bandwidth consortium provides both a throttling capability and redundant failover to ensure your organization’s hosted solution is not based on a single point of failure.
Redundant Storage Networks
Portalogiks proudly employs EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions for 100% of hosting customers. Your data or virtual servers instantly participate in a robust SAN solution whereby both Web Clusters and SQL Clusters can pivot your solution to accommodate for hardware failures, maintenance or disaster recovery scenarios.
RAID Redundancy & Failover
Portalogiks employs RAID storage (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) across 100% of our infrastructure which includes hosts, SANs and even backup servers. Use of RAID technologies ensure that the consistency of your solution is not wed to a single hard drive failure as data is mirrored across redundant hard disks in real-time.
Power Redundancy & Failover
Portalogiks hosted solutions have full power redundancy and failover. Dual power lines to each rack fuel dual power-supplies to each server and SAN. Supporting rack power is eight (8) onsite UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) followed by a robust building failover grid with on-site backup generators to ensure backup power is always available.
Domain Redundancy & Failover
Maximum amount of hosting up-time means nothing if your organization’s users cannot login to their site. Portalogiks employs a federated network of parent and child domain controllers spread across multiple clustered hosts. This level of domain redundancy ensures the ability to authenticate at any time and minimizes all maintenance down time.
Hardware Standards
It’s a fact, over time all hardware will fail. Portalogiks is aware of this and has established rigid hardware standards as a Dell shop. Hardware standards mean interoperability; the parts of every server are interchangeable with the parts on all other servers. This provides Portalogiks an adaptive ability to share and repurpose existing on-site hardware in the event of a component or hardware failure.
Unified Threat Management
Portalogiks use of Unified Threat Management (UTM) is the latest approach to security bringing a new level of efficiency to security management. Protection starts at the gateway, and blocks both internal and external threats, at multiple access points and at all network layers. UTM creates a security environment that delivers firewalling, content protection, anti-virus and intrusion prevention on a single hardware platform.
